Art Design and Media

Art and Design - Diploma

This is a one year course. During the course you will be introduced to and have the opportunity to experiment with and learn about a variety of Art and Design Materials, Techniques and Processes. You will learn about different areas of Art and Design such as drawing, 3D and Graphic Design. You will learn about the work of other Artists, through research projects. You will use the skills you have learnt to complete your own Art projects and develop your Artistic interests. You will have the opportunity to visit current exhibitions, take part in workshops and work experience relevant to the creative industries. After 1 year you can progress onto level 3 courses.

Art and Design (Vocational Studies) - Introductory Certificate

This one year, Level 1 introductory course gives you the opportunity to develop the knowledge, skills and understanding needed to progress to further study and ultimately to employment in art and design or a related sector. It provides an introduction to the sector, enabling you to make informed future progression choices while developing and applying your knowledge and acquiring a range of relevant practical, communication and personal development skills.

Art and Design Practice - Diploma

This course takes place over 1 year after which you may progress to year 2 and achieve an extended Diploma. You will have plenty of time during the course to experiment with and learn about a variety of Art and Design Materials, Techniques and Processes. You will learn about the work of other Artists and creative practitioners, through research projects. You will use the skills you have learnt to complete your own Art projects and develop your skills and portfolio into your area of interest within Art and Design. You will have the opportunity to visit current exhibitions, take part in workshops and work experience relevant to the creative industries. You will take part in an end of year exhibition.

Art and Design Practice - National Extended Diploma (Direct Entry to year 2)

The 540 Diploma is the first year of the full two-year Level 3 qualification. This new creative practice qualification has been developed alongside experts from the creative industries to focus on practical and progression-focused learning. During the first year, you will have the opportunity to experiment with aspects of fine art, digital/graphic design and textiles. Contextual studies and drawing development underpin all aspects of the course.

It is designed to provide students with a variety of opportunities to learn a range of skills that will enable progression to a Level 2 qualification. You will produce a range of digital products for a specific purpose using a range of industry standard applications and tools.

Creative Media Practice - Diploma (540 Credits)

BTEC Level 3 National in Creative Media Practice (Film, TV & Sound) focuses on developing practical skills for careers in film, television and audio production. You will explore how moving image and sound are used to tell stories, communicate ideas and engage audiences. Through practical workshops and creative projects, you will learn how to research and develop ideas, plan productions and create media content for different platforms. You will develop technical skills in filming, sound recording and post-production while also building professional skills such as teamwork, project planning and communication. Practical work may include filming short productions, recording and editing audio, developing visual narratives and producing content in response to creative briefs. Throughout the course you will build a portfolio of work that demonstrates your creative and technical abilities.

Digital Media - TV, Film and Broadcasting - Diploma

Pearson BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Creative Media Skills provides you with a foundation in the film, TV and sound production skills needed to progress in this exciting area. The course also gives an overview of the industry and the roles and opportunities available with in it. This course is equivalent to two GCSEs and can be studied alongside GCSE English and Maths.
